Our Projects
Save Kids Trust operates three medical clinics in and around the city of Jaipur. We call our clinics after the Hindi word for tree of life: Jeevan Vriksh. Our Jeevan Vriksh clinics serve families living in informal housing settlements who would otherwise lack access to healthcare.
Our clinics are available to assist with common ailments (that often would go untreated) and more severe situations. With close relationships to local hospitals & specialty facilities, our clinics refer families to other medical institutions for specialist care and intensive interventions like surgery. Most common medications are dispensed directly from the Clinics. Together, the Jeevan Vriksh Medical Clinics serve more than 3,000 families – empowering more than 20,000 people with medical services and education. The Jeevan Vriksh Medical Clinics also serve as hubs for non-medical community health. One example is sewing classes for women that culminate for some students in a new sewing machine and seed money to start a business. Another example, emerging in response to the COVID-19 lockdown is a food staples program to support families who rely on daily wage earnings for their basic needs. |
Outside of our clinics, Save Kids Trust also runs mobile medical outreach programs to help serve other informal housing settlements where people continue to live without access to medical care. Dr. Sharwan and his team also use these outreach programs to build individual and community capacity by increasing health knowledge.
Our Goals
In 2010, Save Kids Trust set its 20,000 in 2020 goal, to provide healthcare to 20,000 people by the year 2020. That ambitious goal has been met through the three clinics in Jaipur!
Now Save Kids Trust is looking forward to expanding our impact in the next decade. The Save Kids Trust model of local, trusted clinics is tested and effective and the need for more clinics in Jaipur is acute. To support further growth, funding is needed to run the existing programs, to pay Dr. Sharwan a salary to enable his full-time focus on Save Kids Trust, and to open and operate additional clinics. Our desire is to open a new clinic each year for the next 10 years.

Where We WorkSave Kids Trust serves disadvantaged children and their families by offering medical and educational services
Today we work out of three clinics in Jaipur, India, the capital city of the State of Rajasthan, strategically located near several informal housing settlements (commonly, but not preferably, called slums). |
