Nisha's Road to Recovery

Nisha, a six-year-old girl, was brought to our Save Kids Trust clinic with complaints of fever and pain in her left leg. Her mother had noticed a small area of redness on the leg, which upon examination was found to be an abscess with pus — a condition requiring urgent attention.
Nisha comes from a low-income family. Her father works as a daily laborer, bearing the responsibility of supporting his wife and three children on a very small income.
At the clinic, emergency treatment was administered without delay, and Nisha was promptly referred to a pediatric surgeon for further management of the abscess. With SKT's support, she was able to access timely surgical care that her family could not have otherwise afforded.
During a detailed examination conducted by Dr. Rinku Saini (an Associate Professor of Pediatric Medicine at SMS Medical College in Jaipur and a SKT Program Director) it was observed that Nisha was both underweight and shorter than expected for her age — signs pointing to underlying malnutrition. This discovery widened the scope of her care beyond the immediate infection.
Following the successful treatment of the abscess, the family received thorough counseling on nutrition and a proper diet. Nisha is now under regular follow-up for nutritional rehabilitation, and SKT volunteers visit her home periodically to monitor her progress and ensure she continues to improve.
Nisha's father expressed heartfelt gratitude to SKT for the timely medical intervention and the holistic care extended to his daughter — care that addressed not just her immediate illness, but her long-term well-being.
