Learning About Arthritis in Children

Dr. Rinku Saini and a group of women and girls pose outdoors holding a World Arthritis Day banner for a talk on juvenile idiopathic arthritis.

On 12 October 2026, in honor of World Arthritis Day, Save Kids Trust brought a talk titled “Kids Get Arthritis Too!!” to the heart of the community, focusing on Juvenile Idiopathic Arthritis (JIA). Many people still believe arthritis affects only older adults, so when a child complains of aching joints, swelling, or stiffness, it is easily brushed aside as growing pains or tiredness. Gathered outdoors, a group of girls and women from the community listened as Dr. Rinku Saini explained that arthritis can affect children, what early signs to watch for, and why seeking medical care early matters. Timely attention can protect growing joints, ease pain, and help a child keep learning and playing.

The session closed with the girls joining hands in a circle, a fitting image of how Save Kids Trust works: when young people learn something important, they carry it home to their families and neighbors, so one afternoon’s talk can reach far more households than were present that day.

  • Girls ask questions and share what they learned during the seminar
  • The participants are standing in a circle with their arms raised above their heads, stretching.
