High Humidity Exasperates Skin Infections

Skin infections increase with high humidity levels during monsoon season, which has been with us for the last couple months. The warm and moist climate, combined with poor hygiene and inadequate living conditions, creates an ideal breeding ground for bacteria, fungi, and other micro-organisms.
Children in our communities are especially vulnerable because of poor sanitation, inadequate access to clean water and soap, overcrowding, and malnutrition.
Treatments from local healers often make the ailment worse. If left without proper treatments, these infections can lead to serious complications, including permanent scarring and septicemia (blood infection).
Save Kids Trust offers education and regular health check-ups to create a healthier environment for children and prevent the spread of skin infections.
