Skin Infection During Pregnancy

Durga, 24, is married and her day job is a roadside cleaner. She developed a painful skin infection during pregnancy while living in an area with very limited healthcare. After her baby was born her skin would not heal. Having a newborn needing constant care, she moved to her parents’ home near a Save Kids Trust clinic. Her parents took her immediately to the clinic. There, she received treatment and is now experiencing relief. Our medical team continues to investigate the cause to help prevent future recurrence.
Update: Durga, 24, has received proper diagnosis and care thanks to Save Kids Trust.
Unable to afford treatment on her own, SKT staff took her to a dermatologist, where she was diagnosed with Nummular Dermatitis. Her exact cause is unknown, but contributing factors may include dry skin, allergens, harsh soaps, low humidity, skin trauma due to environmental conditions, and certain medications. Durga can now help herself with diagnosis and seeking care; now that she knows what is going on.
