How a construction worker found healing at a Save Kids Trust Street Clinic

A young father speaks to Dr. Saini at a street clinic about his foot injury from the construction site where he works.
This young father visited a street clinic seeking help

Issac, a 30-year-old man from the village of Balawash in Dausa district, grew up in a large extended family. Though life in the village was simple, it wasn’t easy. The family struggled under the weight of debt, and when they eventually divided the household, Issac took on the responsibility of repaying his share.

A high school graduate, Issac had few work opportunities in the village. With a wife and two young children to support, he made the tough decision to move to Jaipur. There, he began working as a daily wage laborer at a construction site—earning just enough to cover food and rent for their single-room home.

Last month, while working on-site, a wall cutter slipped from his hand and caused a deep cut above the heel of his right foot. With no option to rest or take leave, Issac continued working despite severe pain and the risk of infection. Over the next few days, the wound worsened. It became an open, infected sore, accompanied by fever and swelling in his leg. Still, Isaac kept going—pushing through the pain, driven by the need to provide for his family.

One evening, while returning from work, Isaac passed by a Save Kids Trust Street Clinic. He stopped and explained his injury to the attending doctor. The clinic staff listened with care and immediately began treatment. With proper wound care, medication, and regular follow-ups at the nearby SKT clinic, Isaac’s infection was brought under control, and his wound healed completely.

Isaac and his wife were deeply grateful. What seemed like a small pop-up clinic by the roadside turned out to be a lifeline for their family. Thanks to SKT, Isaac could return to work healthy, without risking his life for a daily wage.
