Positive Changes in the Community

Over the past few years, we have been actively educating the community about anemia. Our most recent anemia clinics were in February 2025 in two of our clinic areas. We added materials focusing on anemia during pregnancy this year and had great feedback.
After years of continuous teaching and awareness efforts, we are now witnessing significant changes. As part of our February anemia campaigns, we conducted random hemoglobin sampling among [volunteer] adolescent girls in the community. Five years ago, the results showed that 50% of the girls were anemic. However, over the years, we observed a steady decline in anemia cases.
This year, the results were even more encouraging—less than 10% of the girls were found to have anemia. This remarkable improvement reflects the impact of our ongoing awareness programs and the community’s increasing focus on health and nutrition.
