Prakash months after his open heart surgery.

Prakash was born just steps from Save Kids Trust's Harsha Clinic. Dr. Saini, who regularly walks the surrounding streets of the nearby informal settlement, knew of Prakash's birth and watched him grow up playing outside.

Over the years, Prakash's mother brought him to the clinic repeatedly with respiratory infections. The frequency of these visits prompted the clinic team to look deeper — and what they found changed everything. Prakash had a congenital heart defect, a condition present since before his birth that his family had never known about and didn't know how to manage.

Dr. Sharwan referred Prakash to a local hospital for further testing, which confirmed the diagnosis. Open heart surgery was necessary. Save Kids Trust walked alongside the family through the entire process, providing additional support to see Prakash through to recovery.

The clinic team was overjoyed at his follow-up visit several months later. The difference was unmistakable.

Dr. Saini reflected that this outcome would not have been possible without donor support. On behalf of Prakash and every family they serve, the Save Kids Trust team extends their heartfelt thanks.
