How Does A Street Clinic Work?

Street Medical Clincs are the first line of contact with many patients. These clinics start in the early evening with the goal of catching people on their way home from work or to the market. They often end after sunset.
Our street clinics have a simple but effective process: patients register at one end of the table, consult with a doctor in the middle section, get their prescriptions verified and receive their medications at the end. Paperwork accompanies each patient along the way. SKT staff note and track cases that need follow-up care.
This street clinic coincided with a mosquito-borne illness educational event and the gifting of a sewing machine to a widow to use as her income source (these are two other stories are on our website).
Two of these photos show Board Members visiting this street site. It was a pleasure to meet and greet the SKT staff. It was amazing to see how busy the clinic got during key hours.
