Supporting Vulnerable Children

A woman and three children sit against a blue wall inside one of Save Kids Trust's clinics. The woman wears a patterned scarf. One child holds a medical device. They appear serious.

Nandini, a 10-year-old girl, was brought to the clinic with complaints of severe breathing difficulty and poor appetite. On examination, she was found to be undernourished, with both weight and height below the 3rd percentile for her age. Respiratory examination revealed wheezing in her lungs. She was immediately treated with nebulization using bronchodilators and showed improvement after three consecutive nebulizer treatments given at 20-minute intervals. She was later prescribed antibiotics, bronchodilators, and anti-allergy medicines. Blood investigations and a chest X-ray were advised, along with counseling for proper nutrition and diet.

Behind Nandini's illness is a difficult social reality. Her father passed away two years ago, leaving her mother alone to care for Nandini and her two younger sisters. Her mother works as a daily wage laborer at construction sites to provide food and pay rent for their small single room home. Due to financial hardship, it became difficult for her to seek timely medical care for her children.

When Nandini's mother brought her to the clinic seeking help, SKT Health Care stepped forward to support the family. Nandini received proper medical treatment, guidance for nutrition, and compassionate care. Her story reflects the importance of accessible healthcare and community support for vulnerable children living in difficult circumstances.
