We recently received an update on the situation in Jaipur from Dr. Saini, our Executive Director. Both Drs. Saini and Rinku (Dr. Saini’s wife) had Covid-19 earlier in the pandemic and they, and their two daughters, are currently healthy.
However, the situation in the communities they serve is dire. According to Dr. Saini, “Things are becoming more difficult day by day and the COVID-19 cases have increased out of control. I never imagined that our hospitals would run out of beds or oxygen supplies.” The Save Kids Trust (SKT) team is depleted as several staff members are currently infected with COVID-19. “As SKT, we always stand with the poor and needy and we are in the field for them”, said Dr. Saini, “The city is on lockdown but our three medical clinics are open and we are serving families, many who are sick with COVID.” SKT is unable to provide hospital beds or oxygen tanks but is focused on treating ill patients, COVID or other ailments, and is continuing to provide food supplies to families in need during the lockdown. They are also providing hygiene kits for all to combat the spread of the virus. It is a critical time for the people of India. Please consider helping the people of Jaipur through supporting the work of SKT.
