Courtyard Menstruation Clinic

Save Kids Trust held a house gathering to teach adolescent girls and their moms about menstrual hygiene. They found that everyone felt very safe being within the privacy of a home courtyard and some moms even sent their young girls without them knowing the family and trusting the SKT staff. Dr. Saini found that it was very good to have mothers participate and learn together with their daughters. Mothers were eager to share privately about missed periods or problems for them or their daughters. These shared stories help with the diagnosis of treatable aliments. The girls shared that they are still very shy about buying sanitary pads at a medical store so having a private way to distribute sanitary supplies after the meeting was a positive.
